Obtaining an e-notification with the G-1145 form is for informational purposes only. It gives you the extra confidence that the application has been received and accepted. The e-notification that you receive does not grant any type of status or benefit. Within 10 days of accepting your application, USCIS will also mail you a receipt notice, known formally as Form I-797C, Notice of Action. The receipt letter may be used as evidence that USCIS is processing an application.
